RUN THE forest at hamsterley

Run The Forest is a Sunday morning race starting at 10.30am, with 10km, 5km and 3km distances, held on well maintained trails within the beautiful surroundings of Hamsterley Forest.

This will be a Chip timed event, with a bespoke Medal and refreshments at the finish. Enjoy what will hopefully be a warm summer August day, with relaxing surroundings.

Our running events appeal to all abilities - from social runners taking the plunge into their first race, to some of the best local athletes. We strive to create an environment where all runners are encouraged to achieve their personal goals, no matter what their ability.

For beginners and novice runners, we recommend either the 3km, which is 'almost' flat throughout the whole distance (just a small gradient which is barely noticeable) or the 5km, which follows the 3km course and extends to a hilly ascent for a few hundred metres. The 10km is much more of a challenge, taking in a long single lap of part of the forest trails with numerous hills and undulations throughout the whole distance.

All races are run within private land - on safe, traffic free courses.

Covid rules at the time of the event will be adhered to.
